My daily wellness habits

With our busy lives, packed schedules, and social media bombarding us everyday, its easy to get caught up in the latest fad diets and quick fixes when you’re looking to lose weight or start your journey to a healthier you - and then you end up spending tons of money on plans that don’t even work.

But what if it was easier than you think? Wellness is about thriving in all areas of your life, ultimately leading you to a path of success. Embracing wellness everyday with small actions can transform not only your physical health (abs, please!) but also your mindset.

If you’re tired of feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and are ready for a change, you came to the right place!

In this post I’m sharing 3 easy habits that helped me create wellness in my everyday life and feel my very best - no matter where the day takes me.

Prioritize Daily Movement

Your body is your most important asset. That means you need to invest in it everyday! Prioritizing daily movement (even just 10 mins a day) has helped me with so much more than just my physical health.

  • Move Regularly: Aim for at least 30 minutes of movement every day. Or if you only have 10 minutes - that’s better than nothing! Find activities that you enjoy. Not a fan of yoga? Me either, and that’s ok! Consistency is key, so choose something that fits your lifestyle and that you look forward to. My go-to’s are incline walking and at-home workouts - click here and here for the best weights to use!

  • Rest and Recover: Don’t underestimate the power of rest. Ensure you’re getting 7-9 hours of sleep each night. I also like to take my weekends as active rest days - meaning I still get movement in but it doesn’t need to be as intense as my regular workouts.

Foster the right mindset

Wellness is more than just physical health—it’s about creating the right mindset to achieve what you want out of your life.

  • Set Goals and Priorities: Define what’s important to you and set realistic goals. Prioritize activities that align with your values and contribute to your overall wellness. I love using this planner to focus my mindset for the day, and this planner to organize and prioritize my goals!

  • Create a Positive Environment: Surround yourself with positivity. Whether it’s creating an organized home or a supportive social circle, your environment plays a huge role in your overall wellness. If you have negativity surrounding you, chances are those negative thoughts and toxic behaviors will hinder you from reaching your goals - not to mention will kill your mood!

Self-Care Rituals

Incorporating self-care rituals into my everyday schedule was such a game changer for my overall health and wellness. I know you may be thinking “that won’t make a difference” but daily rituals like these have been proven to help lower stress, anxiety, and help in decision making - ultimately leading to a more successful you!

  • Daily Routines: Establish a daily routine that includes time for self-care activities. This could be as simple as taking a few minutes each morning to prioritize your goals for the day while sipping on your favorite coffee, or unwinding in the evening by reading a chapter of your favorite book.

  • Journaling: I used to think journaling was silly - so I get it if you’re rolling your eyes right now! But writing down your thoughts and feelings can be so therapeutic. It’s also a great way to reflect on your experiences and track your progress. This journal really helped me and made a huge difference, especially while my husband was deployed.

  • Gratitude: Practicing gratitude can train your mindset to focus on the positive in life. Take a moment each day to acknowledge things you’re grateful for, no matter how small. I can’t recommend this journal enough that has helped me practice gratitude every day!

Wellness is a journey, not a destination. As they say - health is wealth. Small changes and consistent habits can transform your body and mind and make a huge difference over time. Everyone’s path to wellness is unique, so listen to your body, follow your passions, and celebrate each step along the way.

Here’s to embracing everyday wellness and becoming the best version of yourself! 🌟
